Double Awards Success for Bluebird Care Croydon at the London Care Awards 2017

Bluebird Care Croydon employee Kim Keohane was awarded Frontline Leader and Tracey Mansfield awarded The Dementia Career Award at the London Care Awards on Saturday 11th November 2017Bluebird Care Croydon are celebrating after winning two main awards along with six finalist awards at the Great London British Care Awards 2017, which took place on Saturday 11th November at the Hilton Bankside Hotel in London.
The team were up against all home care companies in Greater London for this major care awards event which received over 4000 entries. The awards are part of the Great British Care Awards, a series of 9 regional awards celebrating excellence across the care sector. The purpose of the awards is to promote best practice within both home care and care homes sectors, and pay tribute to those individuals who have demonstrated outstanding excellence within their field of work.
Kim Keohane was the WINNER of the Frontline leader’s award
The Frontline Leader Award recognises the person who has shown exceptional entrepreneurial skills in identifying, developing, implementing and establishing a new service; or a new administrative system; or the launch of a new product. This new innovation must demonstrate benefits for staff, the business and users of the service.
Commenting on her success, Kim said:
I am delighted to have been recognised by Great British Care Awards for my years of dedication in care. My passion is person-centred care whilst promoting independence to meet each individual desired outcomes. I also get great satisfaction when our customers have a smile on their face, content and safe.
Whilst the Judges said:Kim’s passion and enthusiasm for the leadership and mentoring of her team is self-evident. She shows colleagues, by example, how care should be delivered through practical support, guidance and training. Her positive ‘can do’ attitude towards delivering care at the front-line is inspirational for the large team she leads.
Tracey Mansfield was WINNER of the Dementia Carer Award
The Dementia Carer Award is given to an individual who can reflect the specific skills needed to manage and deliver services sensitive to the needs of older people with dementia, and which reflects an awareness of the provider organisation that investment in this type of service provision will meet increasing demand in the future.
Tracey commented:
I was shocked to learn I was nominated for this award and feel truly honoured. I love my job especially supporting people to live well with dementia. I consider myself lucky to work with such a team of supportive staff.
With the judges adding: Tracy has overcome personal difficulties with dyslexia to provide excellent person centred care for her service users. She is compassionate and dedicated and is a true asset to the care sector. Well done Tracy

We are absolutely thrilled that against tough competition we have again won awards at this major care awards event. These awards are great news and I am so pleased for our staff members, it goes to show that there are some great examples of quality home care in the Borough of Croydon, This come just a few weeks after Bluebird Care Croydon won Best SME Business in the Croydon Business Excellence Awards

Bluebird Care Croydon was set up in May 2010 by local Croydon resident, Dean Slade. Dean who previously worked at Croydon’s University Hospital witnessed first-hand the lack of high quality flexible care in the home services and wanted to give something back to his local community. In little more than 6 years Bluebird Care Croydon is now providing over 50,000 care visits a year. They employ over 70 local care staff which has provided a great number of new jobs to the Croydon area.
