Bluebird Care is pleased to confirm that we have submitted a response to the LGiU, which has now been published on their website.

Award winning think tank, the Local Government Information Unit (LGiU) has been inviting responses via a ‘call for evidence’ from local authorities, providers, service users, their carers and care workers for a consultation being held by the Commission on the Future of the Home Care Workforce, chaired by Paul Burstow, MP.

Responses will be submitted to the Commission, which has been established to look at workforce issues and how to provide better quality home care through the development of a stable, skilled workforce. The Commission will be reviewing existing contracting and commissioning arrangements to ascertain whether they are fit for purpose and has stated a particular interest in learning:

  • What an ideal home care workforce would look like
  • What keeps us from having that ideal workforce now
  • How to get past existing barriers to achieve a workforce that can deliver high quality care in people’s homes

To find out more about the Commission and read our submission visit the LGiU website.
