Shaw House Newbury
Built in 1581 by Newbury clothier Thomas Dolman this fine Elizabethan building was recently restored through a £6million project. The stories and characters from Shaw House’s varied past are bought to life in the new exhibition. An ideal day out for families; Wheelie Do activities are located throughout the house, with activities from designing the gardens to playing our Civil War board game. The Corn Exchange is a 400 seat arts centre in Newbury, Berkshire. It presents a varied programme including dance, film, music, drama, children's events, comedy and an annual pantomime, and is also home to a 40 seat independant cinema. The front of house area was refurbished over summer 2015 and the Corn Exchange Kitchen and Bar is now open, offering a brunch, light bites, and main meals menu, as well as a cafe and bar service and a kids menu. The Corn Exchange Trust also manages 101, the Outdoor Arts Creation Space for the development of large-scale outdoor performances and residencies, both on Greenham Business Park, Newbury.
