Home and Live In Care providers, Bluebird Care Hook & Kingsclere and Bluebird Care Newbury, launched their new Bluebird Care Hub in Kingsclere to provide information and resources relating to adult social care as well as offering space and resources for charities and local organisations working with and on behalf of older people.  Located on the ground floor of their new offices in Kingsclere, this new facility will provide a range of literature from care service providers and charities giving information about the products and services that are available to people looking for care and support for a loved one.
 
In addition, local charities and groups will also be able to use the onsite training facilities including a suite of moving and positioning equipment and book space for client and staff meetings. The Hub includes a quiet break out area, a kitchen and disabled facilities.
 
The Bluebird Care Hub was officially opened by local MP Kit Malthouse on Friday 9^th March in front of invited guests representing a broad range of local and national charities, Kingsclere Medical Centre, churches, county, borough and parish councillors, village services and residents wanting to know more about the new Bluebird Care Hub will benefit older members of the community.

People can never have too much information when it comes to making decisions about looking after the care needs of someone they love. The Bluebird Care Hub provides this in a warm and welcoming environment. It was wonderful to see so many people at the opening representing such a broad range of charities and community groups.”
 
Navigating the complexities of the care system is not an easy task, especially when most people’s first experience of needing to arrange care is when there is an immediate need due to some form of crisis at home.  Members of the public will be able to drop in to the Bluebird Care Hub for advice and support on a range of issues around caring for a loved one including; what care options are available, assistive technology, disability and mobility aids, modifications that can be made in the home, care funding, accessing legal and financial advice, local and national care charities and not for profit organisations as well as local support and friendship groups.

Bluebird Care Hook & Kingsclere and Bluebird Care Newbury have a strong belief in supporting groups and charities working with older people and in 2016 they launched their first community grant scheme to provide funding for local charities working with older people. Six different grants have been allocated helping a range of projects since that time.
