Bluebird Care North Hampshire and West Berkshire gifted their Care Assistants with surprise chocolate cards that say ‘Above and Beyond’.

This gift was to treat the amazing Care Assistants who consistently go above and beyond for their customers.

The Covid-19 pandemic has been difficult for the entire care sector, but Bluebird Care Care Assistants have worked around the clock to help keep their customers safe and happy in their own homes. They provide a wide range of care packages, ranging from home visits to full time live-in care.

Megan Parsons, joined as a Care Assistant at Bluebird Care North Hampshire three months ago, she said:

“I became a Bluebird Care Care Assistant during the Covid-19 pandemic. Despite the challenges that were brought to our care services, taking care of our customers has remained our number one priority! “Bluebird Care is such a fantastic company to work for, it feels more like a family now. I received a lovely bunch of flowers on passing probation and I have now been promoted to Lead Carer. I was so surprised when the Senior Managers turned up on a morning call and handed us a lovely heart shaped Chocolate chunk with a personal little note on. All this has made me feel so valued, I really enjoy being part of the Bluebird Care family, what a great place to be.

Mercia Rand also works as a Care Assistant at Bluebird Care North Hampshire. Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic she sacrificed a lot in her personal life to maximise protection for her customers, Mercia said:

When the national lockdown started in March, I had no doubt that I would carry on working to help keep our lovely customers safe, cared for and to brighten up their day. To maximise protection for myself, my husband and I lived a relatively secluded lifestyle, only going out for necessary shopping and hardly any socialising. I had to keep my customers as safe as possible. I am so fortunate my husband has supported me and my job 100 percent, Bluebird Care have also been fantastic at keeping me going when I feel like I am working so hard day in, day out. Thank you, Bluebird Care, for the amazing support, on-going training and lovely gifts.

Sharon Lovelock, Care Assistant at Bluebird Care West Berkshire said:

Receiving the chocolate whilst out on a customer call was such a lovely and thoughtful idea, it was also totally unexpected. It is nice to feel appreciated. Working through a pandemic having just changed careers was very challenging and such hard work. But with the support from everyone in the office, I have been able to get through it – thank you for believing in me!

Kim Teagle, Recruitment and Retention Manager at Bluebird Care North Hampshire added:

We are so happy that our lovely Care Assistants enjoyed their surprise chocolates. It is just a little token of appreciation to remind them how much we value their consistent care for customers and how hard they have worked for the past few months. The hours of dedication and quality of care that has been given is so inspirational, they are all true heroes!
