Kerenza Faram, a care assistant, packed each shoe box with gifts personalised to each customer’s hobbies and interests. The shoe boxes, which are part of Bluebird Care’s “Combatting Loneliness at Christmas” campaign, were then personally delivered by Kerenza, so each customer knew who their gift was from.

One customer of Bluebird Care North Hampshire, who loves to see birds in his garden, was gifted a bird feeder with some bird food. As well as festive chocolates, some socks and a light-up snowman, the customer also received evaporated milk, another favourite of his.

Kerenza also delivered new gloves, a Santa hat, as well as various sweet treats to another customer in this area. With a strong sweet tooth and gloves which have seen better days, Kerenza was delighted to see how much this customer appreciated their special gifts.

A customer of Bluebird Care West Berkshire also received a Christmas coaster, various festive gifts and a crossword and puzzle book. Kerenza knew that this customer enjoys keeping busy and saw the puzzle books as a fitting present.

Customers were delighted when they received their gifts, with many thanking Kerenza for their thoughtful presents.

Speaking of her shoe box gifts, Kerenza said:

After a tough year, where mental health and loneliness have been key issues, I wondered if we could do boxes filled with Christmas goodies for the most vulnerable. Thanks to the support of the team, we devised the shoe box idea which is very special and personalised. I have thoroughly enjoyed buying, wrapping and delivering items with a personal significance to our customers.
