Brain Tumour Research’s vision is to find a cure for brain tumours. Brain tumours are indiscriminate; they can affect anyone at any age. Less than 20% of those diagnosed with a brain tumour survive beyond five years compared with an average of 50% across all cancers and incidences of and deaths from brain tumours are increasing.
What’s more, they kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer… yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease. Brain Tumour Research is determined to change this. They are building a network of experts in sustainable research at dedicated Centres of Excellence whilst influencing the Government and larger cancer charities to more nationally.

Wear A Hat Day is the UK’s premier brain tumour research fundraising event, supporting research to improve the lives of patients and help find a cure. Now in its ninth year, it is inspired by the 16,000 people who are diagnosed each year and it is dedicated to the memory of those lost to a cancer which hasn’t seen the same advancements in understanding and treatment as some other cancers and is now sadly more common than a generation ago.

Bluebird Care (Bedford’s) care team will be wearing hats all day (pictures coming soon) to support Brain Tumour Research and to raise awareness.

Bluebird Care offers a unique service of tailored care visits which range from anything from 30 minutes to full live-in support.
