Most of us at some point in our lives will be in contact with care services, be that in our work, as a service user, carer, relative or friend and when we do we hope we will be treated with Dignity and respect. Over 2 million health and social care staff in the UK work around the clock to provide support and care for those in need. Over 74,000 Champions from all walks of life have joined forces to provide a more dignified service for everyone

Bluebird Care (Bournemouth) is helping to make sure that dignity is a reality for all. Over and above the care & support that we provide on a daily basis we are raising awareness as part of a national day of action to promote Dignity in Care.

Melanie Cohen, director of Bluebird Care (Bournemouth) said:
We have chosen to support Dignity Action Day to raise awareness throughout our local community of the importance of upholding people's rights to dignity. We want to ensure that people receiving care are treated as individuals, are given choice, control, and a sense of purpose in their daily activities. Our Care Assistants and team members are proud to be 'Dignity Champions'.
