We are happy and proud to announce that the Care Quality Commission (CQC) have awarded our Bluebird Care Brighton & Hove office ‘Outstanding’ for our effective homecare service

We’re thrilled to announce that the Care Quality Commission (CQC) have awarded our Bluebird Care Brighton & Hove office ‘Outstanding’ for our effective homecare service in a report that was published on 12th March 2020.

We recently received an ‘Outstanding’ rating in the ‘Effective’ KLOE (key line of enquiry) following our CQC inspection on 29th of January 2020. Our services were also rated ‘Good’ in 4 of the 5 key areas; ‘safe’, ‘caring’, ‘responsive’ and ‘well-led’.

The CQC are an independent regulator of health and social care services in England who monitor, inspect and regulate services to make sure they are meeting the fundamental standards of quality and safety.

Individual feedback described our service as exceptional and distinctive, with CQC praising us on our holistic approach to assessing, planning and delivering care.

As part of the inspection, customers and staff were also interviewed by the inspector for their observations on what it is like to receive a service from Bluebird Care Brighton & Hove and what it is like to work here. Below are just a few of the outstanding comments received from both our employees and customers;

"I'm very happy with them. They are there when I need them, they've never let me down".

"[My relative] has improved so much since he has been having Bluebird Care. The carers have opened up a whole new world to him, it's like he has a new family. They are very proactive, and they know exactly what to do, I'm so pleased with them".

"I can't fault them, they make me very comfortable".

"I'm very happy, I wouldn't change them and I'd recommend them to others".

"We're always listened to by the office and the managers, they support us".

"I love working here. Everyone is so supportive and nothing is too much trouble".

Contributing towards this Outstanding KLOE was our approach to using innovative technology throughout our business and the implementation of our brand-new Health & Wellbeing Checks. CQC managed to see an example where this new service picked up that an individual was unwell, sending information directly to the GP and triggering an urgent home visit. These visits can prevent customers being admitted to hospital further down the line, managing symptoms when they first occur.

Commenting on this excellent achievement, director of Bluebird Care Brighton & Hove, Michelle Johnson commented:

"I am thrilled that we have been recognised once again by CQC for delivering an extremely effective service across Brighton & Hove area. Everyone in the team is committed to putting our customers first and providing the very best service we can, and we will continue to do so."
