Gary Johnson, Owner and Director, of Bluebird Care Lewes is a proud crew member of the Newhaven Lifeboat Crew.

The Newhaven boathouse boosts the largest of all the RNLI vessels, the Severn Class lifeboat and serves the waters between Brighton and Beachy Head and into the Channel.

Having been a crew member for over 2 years, Gary is constantly on standby when working from the Bluebird Care offices in Newhaven, East Sussex.

In order to be a competent crew member, the training is rigourous. Gary has just completed the 2 years training which cumulated with a week of high level training and assessments at the RNLIs own training centre in Poole, Dorset.
The Newhaven Lifeboat crew are a highly skilled and dedicated team who give up their free time each week to train and to attend ‘shouts’ in both calm and sometimes treacherous conditions.

Gary states;

...the RNLI is an amazing organisation, full of likeminded men and women who wish to give back to their communities. People join the lifeboat Crew from all walks of life, but with the common aim of working together as a strong team for the good of others. It’s great to be part of such a brilliant team, to make a difference, and to put it simply... it beats golf!
