Victoria Gardner

Trainer

Vicki joined Bluebird Care in July 2023, as the Health and Social Care Trainer and her role covers delivering induction training to all new carers, which qualifies them in the Care Certificate and general training to office staff.  Ensuring mandatory training is completed each year by care staff, to ensure they remain compliant, refresher training in all the Care Certificate Modules when required.  Developing training aids such as the One Touch Health Training App and supporting the management team with observations and supervisions when required.

Vicki has been teaching and assessing Emergency First Aid and First Aid At Work Courses for the last five years as part of a voluntary role with the Army Cadet Force and that is where she gained her teaching qualification.  Vicki started in care as a carer in 2008 after the financial crash, after working in financial administration for many years.  From there she completed her Level 2 and 3 in Health and Social Care and moved from a caring role into Duty Manager position. Vicki loves sharing her passion for delivering person centred care, whether it be dancing around someone's bedroom to make them laugh, singing songs from the past to put a smile on someone's face or most recently, taking part in a Christmas crafting session, being with people and finding out what makes them tick is so rewarding.

In Vicki’s spare time, she volunteers with Northumbria Army Cadet Force, where she holds the rank of Major (ACF).  Vicki delivers first aid training to the Cadet Force Adult Volunteers and the Cadets.  Her main role is the County Duke of Edinburgh's Award Officer, where she manages and supports around 150 young people to achieve Bronze Silver and Gold levels of the award – she was lucky enough to be invited to Buckingham Palace last summer to see her young people be awarded their Gold Awards, an absolute honour!
