#ILoveMyCareer - Emma's Story

As part of our #ILoveMyCareer campaign, we are spending some time with various members of the team to ask them exactly that question. Why they love their career in care! We recently spent some time with Care Assistant Emma, who visited to tell us a little more. We would like to thank Emma for sharing her story with us.

We recently spent some time with Care Assistant Emma, who visited to tell us a little more. We would like to thank Emma for sharing her story with us:
The first time I ever experienced being in a caring role was when I looked after my nan. She had dementia and it particularly affected her moods such as she would become violent and need a lot of patience.
I helped my nan with a lot of things including her meals and as her illness progressed, I had the privilege of looking after her through to her final days.
This really inspired me to look into working in care professionally; I found that I very much enjoyed caring for my nan and wanted to carry this on into my career.
Before working for Bluebird Care, I was a riding instructor and did a lot of things with the Variety, the children's charity. They often visited and I enjoyed the time that I spent with the groups there.
After a while, I decided to apply for a role with Bluebird Care Hounslow & Chiswick and have now been here for just over four months. I think the quality of care provided by everyone is excellent and the team is so friendly!
I simply love the time that I spend seeing families and helping them with even the simple things like a cup of tea. Even just cheering them up or helping guide them is so nice!
