Launching our Career Journey

Here at Bluebird Care Maidstone, our goal is to give our Care Assistants as many opportunities as possible to build a meaningful career in care and are pleased to announce that we have have just launched our Career Pathway that forms part of our Career Journey. To achieve this, we have worked hard to develop five roles that form our Career Pathway to give our Care Assistants structured career progression throughout their career with us.

Bluebird Care Maidstone support Motor Neurone Disease Awareness Month 2016

Bluebird Care Gravesham & Dartford is supporting Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Awareness Month this June, an annual campaign run by the Motor Neurone Disease Association. The Motor Neurone Disease Association is the only national charity in England, Wales and Northern Ireland focused on MND care, research and campaigning. With up to 5,000 adults in the UK living with MND and six people per day in the UK diagnosed with the condition, the work the MND Association undertakes is vital.

Bluebird Care Maidstone is supporting Dementia Awareness Week 2016, an annual campaign run by the Alzheimer’s Society from 15– 21 May 2016. The Alzheimer’s Society are the UK's leading dementia support and research charity, supporting people living with any form of dementia in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Heart of Kent Hospice Awarded First Community Grant

Bluebird Care Maidstone is pleased to announce that Heart of Kent Hospice has been awarded the first ever Bluebird Care Community Grant. The grant of £500 will enable Heart of Kent Hospice to purchase Virtual Dementia Tour training which will enable delegates to ‘experience’ what it is actually like to have dementia, as opposed to trying to imagine what a person with dementia experiences.

We have recently become a Healthwatch Kent Community Champion. Healthwatch Kent is an independent organisation, set up to champion the views of patients and social care users across Kent and being a Community Champion is an important role for us to have.

We are pleased to be supporting Parkinson’s Awareness Week 2016, an annual campaign run by Parkinson’s UK, from 18-24 April. Parkinson’s UK are the leading UK charity associated with leading, influencing and funding research to ensure new and better treatments for the condition.

Janice Heale Announced as Care Worker of the Year

Janice has recently been announced as the Bluebird Care Care Worker of the year for Maidstone.  The award is a great achievement and creates an opportunity to celebrate and recognize excellence in care. The award was presented by Cllr Derek Butler, Deputy Mayor of Maidstone at a special afternoon tea on 16th March.  Janice was nominated following a survey with customers where she received a large proportion of the compliments.
