Here’s our guide to preparing and cooking the perfect Brussel Sprout.

  • Trim any loose, yellow or damaged leaves.
  • Give them a wash.
  • Trim the base.
  • If the Brussel sprout is quite large, then cut a cross in the base to make them cook evenly.
  • Boil a pan of water, add a little bit of salt.
  • Put the Brussel’s in the boiling water and then bring back to the boil.
  • Cover the pan and cook for 5-10 minutes.
  • Pan fry a little bit of salted butter, add pancetta and cook until golden-brown and crispy
  • Add chestnuts until warmed through.
  • Drain the Brussels and then add to the pan.
  • Cook for 3-4 minutes
  • Eat immediately
