Alzheimer’s Society supporters get set to unleash their ‘inner elf’

The cost of living crisis has brought family finances into sharp focus, with many facing a difficult Christmas.

It has also meant charities are gearing up for tough times ahead, with people understandably having to think twice about donating to worthy causes.

However, at Alzheimer’s Society we’re confident our incredible supporters will get behind us once again for this year’s Elf Day.

Every year we call on people to ‘unleash their inner elf’ to help raise vital funds to support people living with dementia.

The money we raise will go towards Alzheimer’s Society’s support services, which were used 4.2 million times last year. With your help, we can make sure that no one is facing dementia alone.

This year’s Elf Day falls on December 2 and is all about having some festive fun while fundraising to support the 900,000 people living with dementia in the UK, including more than 39,000 across the North East.

The easiest way to fundraise for Elf Day is to dress up, which can be as simple as wearing a festive jumper or donning an elf hat. But that’s not the only way you can take part – we also have plenty of games and fundraising ideas on our website at alzheimers.org.uk/elfday

You can host an Elf Day any way you like to keep you jingling all the way to Christmas – why not hold a best dressed competition with your family, friends, or colleague, host a festive games night or bake sale or even organise an Elf Day at your school.

You don’t need to buy anything new, that old stripey jumper at the back of the wardrobe will do fine!

But if you’re stuck for costume ideas and would like to spend your money where it will make a difference, Alzheimer's Society's online shop has plenty of elfish garments and gifts available to buy at shop.alzheimers.org.uk

So, join in the fun this festive period and help people affected by dementia.
