Bluebird care Northumberland South is happy to offer the Level 2 in The Principles of Dementia Care qualification in partnership with NCFE.This qualification will help our care assistants develop their understanding and knowledge of dementia care. 5 Care Assistants have signed up to this qualification so far and the rest of our team will follow throughout the year. They will all be required to pass 7 mandatory units before they pass this qualification.
The areas this qualification covers will show the importance of being involved with appropriate social activities that will engage the customer. The influence of positive communication methods. What issues there are in regards to the use of medication for people with dementia and looking into person-centred approach to the care and support of individuals with dementia. Our care assistants will be learning how to understand equality, diversity and inclusion in dementia and also understand behaviour in the context of dementia.
