The entire team at Bluebird Care Northumberland South would like to wish Dee Nicholl all the best of luck as she goes on a Cystic Fibrosis Charity Walk from Tymouth to Blyth on Saturday July 2nd.DONATION PAGE
Here is Dee's story;
This Saturday, 2nd July, I will be doing a charity 10 mile walk from Tymemouth Priory to Blyth beach in aid of Cystic Fibrosis (CF) and Im hoping all of you will be kind enough to sponsor me in my bid to raise as much money as possible to help in the fight to find a cure for this horrible disease, which at the moment is incurable.
Once diagnosed with CF you are basically hanging on a death sentence unless you are one of the very lucky people who are offered the chance of a double lung transplant and even then you only have an estimated 10 years to enjoy your life.
I personally know someone who has had this fantastic opportunity and its amazing to see her living a life which would of been denied her if not for the very sad loss of another family. Another very good friend of mine was given the go ahead for his double lung transplant but sadly he passsed away at the age of 36 before his operation could take place, leaving his newley wed wife of 1 year and his 10 year old daughter. This is why we also try to promote people signing the donation register, to help someone after you have gone.
All CF patients have COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) which causes breathing difficulties. My own sister Tracey didn't have CF but had suffered COPD for 15 years when she passed away nearly 3 years ago aged 41. This is why this charity is so close to my heart.
I know as carers we have a very hard job and that money is tight but any amount even £10 will help make a difference in finding a cure and help people to 'Breathe Easy'.
