PassSystem

The Pass System is a digital management system that provides a single view of care records.

At Bluebird Care, we recognize the importance of new technologies in enhancing our care delivery. The PASSsystem is a digital platform that ensures a seamless exchange of information, providing comfort and ease for both customers and care staff.

Families can enjoy round-the-clock access to care notes, care plans, and all pertinent care-related information, regardless of their location. Our staff can promptly update care tasks and medication alterations and consult care plans to be fully prepared before visiting a customer's residence.

What is the PASSsystem?

The PASSsystem is a groundbreaking tool that enables our health care assistants to efficiently manage their customers' records with just a simple tap. This system, along with OPENPASS, represents the cutting-edge technology that has propelled Bluebird Care to the forefront of exceptional care services. The era of cumbersome paper stacks is over!

The on-line PASSsystem allows carers and supervisors to view their schedules for the upcoming week on their phones, tablets, or computers. It's regularly updated, so any changes in customer medications or tasks are communicated instantly. Additionally, it provides access to customer care plans, assessments, inquiries, and reviews, ensuring that our staff is well-informed and ready for their duties.

The PASSsystem also enables carers to check in and out of appointments, ensuring precise timekeeping and the assurance that no visit is overlooked. This innovative technology allows families and pharmacies to easily retrieve records and care plans by using the OPENPASS app or logging in via a computer. Moreover, Bluebird Care Southampton and New Forest have received accolades for their technological advancements, including the Taylor Made Computer Solutions Best Use of Technology award from the Daily Echo South Coast Business Awards. This marks a significant step towards providing the highest standard of care.

Who can use the PASSsystem?

The initial access is for Bluebird Care assistants and office staff in order to monitor the staff in the field. However, there is a widget at the front of the care plan which will allow you to log in to see the care records. If you wish to have 24-hour access, we can set you up for openPASS access. This is the citrix based application which will allow you to log in remotely. You will then be able to read the care logs and give us feedback if needs are changing or medication needs to be updated.

What is the best feature of the PASSsystem?

Here at Bluebird Care Portsmouth we know what good customer service for good quality care is. The most important aspect is medication recording, as medication is a vital part of an elderly person’s life. Often there are several tablets to be taken at different times of the day, therefore it is important that the right tablets are taken at the right times in the right doses.

Before the PASSsystem care assistants would have to record information on a daily basis on a record sheet, which were then collected on a weekly or two weekly basis and audited immediately by supervisors. This allowed them to check and monitor whether the medication has been prompted correctly.

However, the system did not allow us to spot medication errors immediately and we needed a more efficient way of recording. Now, the PASSsystem allows us to monitor within 12 hours whether medication has been missed and we can immediately react and correct the situation. In the future PASSsystem will be linked directly with pharmacists who will get alerted if the packs are running out and immediately put orders in for renewal of the customer’s blister pack.

Another feature is that we can monitor whether the carers are doing the tasks in the time agreed and whether the calls need to be lengthened or shortened. If the care needs changing, we can immediately adjust the care plan so that the care assistants can start to carry out the new tasks.

One of the latests features we are trialling is GP CONNECT. ALl doctors and NHS have this data base where all your medical records are held and uploaded. If you end up in hospital, and then you will get discharged , the PASSsyetm can immediately get direct access to your medical record and medication. This is often stopping people to get out earlier out of hospital .
