Initially joining the Bluebird Care Hastings & Rother team as a Care Assistant, we are soon to say goodbye to Field Care Supervisor Charlene, who is pursuing her career as a nurse!

We often welcome new faces to the team who have not worked in healthcare before and about 2.5 years ago, Charlene applied for a job as a Care Assistant with us.

Although she had experience as a Teaching Assistant in a special needs school, Charlene felt that she wanted to pursue a professional career in care because of the chance it gave her to make a tangible difference each and every day.

Although she found it quite nerve wracking at first, Charlene soon grew in confidence with brilliant support from her colleagues and the office team and in a very quick time found that she absolutely loved the role.

The support I have received here at Bluebird Care Rother & Hastings has been second to none and I would like to thank all of my colleagues for this. It has been a big part of me now being able to progress my career in care and whilst I am looking forward to the next step, I will miss each and every person!

Charlene, Field Care Supervisor

When the position of Care Supervisor in the office was advertised, Charlene jumped at the opportunity to continue building her career, so applied and got the role!

For Charlene, this helped her grow in confidence and, in particular, gave the opportunity for her to with external health professionals and learn more about the sector.

We strive to promote career progression with each member of the team and are proud of the support that is available for each member of staff to help them develop.

For Charlene, it is this support and the opportunities that working with Bluebird Care Rother & Hastings gave that have helped her to now want to take the next step on in her career and pursue a role as an A&E nurse!

Charlene's story is one example of the way we invest in each member of the our team and aim to help them achieve their career goals. I would personally like to say a big thank you to Charlene for the support she has provided over the past 2.5 years and we wish you all the best for the future!
