At Bluebird Care Wakefield and Kirklees, we aim to attend at least one communal event every month to show our support to our locals. So far this month we have already supported two events (click here to read about our recent Dementia UK fundraiser), and we are scheduled to attend a Community Fun Day too!
Last weekend, we wanted to show our support in Pontefract at a local Baby and Children’s Market. The aim of this particular event was to sell pre-loved baby and children’s clothes at low prices to families with lower incomes. So, we gathered as many donations as we could by reaching out to our staff and customers on our social media platforms (a big thank you to everyone that donated!). These donations included clothes, toys, and books for both babies and young children that we knew some of our local families would love.
We are so pleased that we were able to help with this event and are happy to share that we raised £60 in total, which we will be donating to The Prince of Wales Hospice. Not only did we raise money for our chosen charity whilst supporting local families, but we also had lots of fun while doing it.
