Local Carers Put on a Right Royal Coronation Celebration

Bluebird Care Sandwell hosted celebrations fit for a king, as the local homecare provider invited members of the community to come together to mark the coronation of King Charles III & Queen Camilla.

Bluebird Care Sandwell hosted celebrations fit for a king, as the local home care provider invited members of the community to come together to mark the coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla. 

The local care team was keen to ensure that its customers could celebrate the historic occasion in the company of old and new friends from across the area.

Bluebird Care Sandwell’s Care Assistants volunteered their time to provide refreshments, oversee entertainment, and make sure that everybody could participate in celebrations. Guests sung and danced to their favourite party tunes and patriotic anthems, and were even greeted by Stuart the Hamster, Bluebird Care Sandwell’s mascot and a firm favourite with customers.

The event provided an opportunity for customers to bond over memories of earlier royal celebrations and to share their hopes for the new King. Whilst guests did not leave the coronation celebrations with a new title like their King, they were all treated to a coronation-themed cupcake to take home instead!

Lennard Melville, Bluebird Care Sandwell customer from Oldbury, said: “I have not felt my best since losing my wife in December, and this party was a wonderful tonic. The celebrations and dancing has helped to bring back happy memories and to restore some of my confidence: thank you to all who made it so special!”

Irene Beryll, Bluebird Care Sandwell customer from West Bromwich, said: “Enjoying this historic celebration has been made even more special by doing so in the company of new friends. It has been brilliant to meet new people and I only hope that Bluebird Care Sandwell will host another party soon!”

Seeing our customers happy makes our job worthwhile, and it was an honour to help those that we support to celebrate this momentous occasion in the company of old and new friends.”
