Care Assistant Iesha has been shortlisted for the Stars of Social Care Awards 2024

Congratulations to Care Assistant Iesha on being a finalist in the Stars of Social Care Awards! 🎉

Selected by a panel of expert judges, including the CEO of Care England, the winners will be announced at The Marriott Regents Park next month by host Josie Gibson.

Iesha celebrates seven years as a Bluebird in 2024. In this time, she rocketed forward into the role of Health & Well-being Champion whilst learning to deliver safe, comforting nail care for our customers.

Registered Manager Nicola Bowditch notes, “Iesha’s outlook is endlessly positive, and this is noticed by her customers and colleagues. She is simultaneously effervescent and deeply caring; this helps her customers feel brighter and happier whilst keeping her colleagues motivated to achieve and maintain the same level of energy.”

Fellow Registered Manager Clarissa Courtney adds, “Iesha’s approach is marvellous, but her safeguarding ability is second-to-none. Instead of hitting autopilot, Iesha observes everything about her customers – even the slightest changes. She recently reported a rash on a customer’s skin. This gentleman is very independent, but having endured a stroke, his verbal communication has diminished. When she noticed the rash, it was subtle – one would be excused for not noticing it at all. But when this gentleman began wearing long sleeves to obscure the rash and despite his protestations that he was well in himself, she reported her concerns to the office and in detailed written notes. Escalating the concern swiftly, the photos were sent to his GP who subsequently discovered he had cancer. Iesha’s eagle eye ensured immediate action, and his cancer was detected at a very early stage. She quite literally saved his life.”
