The Live-In Care Process: How we provide the best care

We want to shout about our Live-In Care home care service, as we believe it is one of the most premium services available to provide you and your loved ones with the best tailor-made care.

Live-in Care is the height of personalised support and is all about choice. The choice is to continue living life with freedom, to continue enjoying hobbies and activities, and to create a routine of care that ensures all these things happen.

If you’re struggling to look after a loved one and worried they’ll need to move into a care home, it’s good to know there are other options. Our Live-in Care service, for instance, is often a much better fit for your loved one’s needs. 

The process

Whether you already have a different care package with us or are looking to use Bluebird Care for the first time, the first step is to contact our Live-In care team who will arrange an initial visit to come and meet you and your family.

This allows you and your family to ask any questions you have to learn more about Live-In care and develop a greater understanding of how we can be here to support you.

After the initial visit, our Live-In care expert team will curate a bespoke care package that is best suited to you and your loved ones' needs.

Then, once your Live-In care package commences, on the first day our Live-In care team will be there to introduce you to your Live-In care expert. They will run through everything with you and how your care will proceed going forward.

What is the schedule and what will the Live-In care expert need?

The Live-in care expert’s rota can vary on the below based on what has been agreed:

• 3 weeks on 1 week off
• 1 week and 1 week off

They will also have a 2-hour break each day.

The Live-In Care expert is there to provide you with any support you need. They are also there to help you overnight and can be woken up to 3 times if needed. If you or your loved one needs more support during the night, then we can arrange for an additional Care Worker to cover the waking night to allow the Live-In Care Assistant to get a good night’s sleep and to be refreshed during the day.

The advantage of us being a local care provider is that we can also arrange for a second local Care Worker to cover the daily two-hour breaks if required.

Whilst the Live-In care expert is living at your home, they will need:

• Their own bedroom and space to keep their clothes and personal belongings.
• To be provided with a food budget for the week which can be managed as part of weekly shop or purchased separately by them at the start of each week.

Your continuity of care

For every one of our Live-In care customers, we provide regular Live-In care experts to ensure you or your loved one’s continuous care. Each week, your Live-In care expert will have a detailed handover with your allocated Care Supervisor to ensure no important information is missed, and to detail any upcoming events that may affect your care.

All of our Live-In Care experts are employed directly by Bluebird Care so that we can guarantee that all recruitment regulation is carried out as per Care Inspectorate Wales, our governing body. Directly employing our Live- In Care experts means that you can feel assured that you and your loved ones' care has been taken care of.
