The purpose of this award which is run by Parkinson’s UK, is for professionals working within the health and home care sector to develop their understanding on Parkinson’s. Those who are successful are presented with a certificate from Parkinson’s UK as well as 2 SCQF Credit Points at Level 6, rated by the SQA. Assessments include 4 learning sessions, 1 revision session and a question and answer session, with Parkinson’s UK reporting a 99% pass rate in 2015.
 
Deputy care manager Katy Cresswell completed the training originally, allowing her to facilitate the training to her colleagues in house, with the support of Parkinson’s UK.
