Respite care

Respite care - when you need a break from caring, or are looking for short-term care

logoHome Care

Looking after someone you love isn’t easy. You want with all your heart to give them the best care possible, but at the same time, your life doesn’t stop. And you shouldn’t feel guilty about that.

That’s why we developed Respite Care in the first place. To give you the break you need, while still ensuring your loved one gets the care they depend on.

What is Respite Care?

In simple terms, it means that someone will come to your loved one’s home and look after them, so that you can have a much-deserved rest.

It’s not just anyone either. We’ll provide you with a reliable, highly-trained, emotionally intelligent Care Expert. That way, you can be sure your loved one will get the best care possible. Which should help you rest and recharge even more.

How can Respite Care help you?

In any number of ways. Imagine being able to get the groceries without having to rush back. Or do the lawn instead of watching it get more and more wild. Or head to the cinema. Or focus fully on work. Or even go on holiday without being racked with guilt.

Getting extra support to look after your loved one, means greater peace of mind for you. Which ultimately means you’ll be more energised once you resume caring for them.

Benefits of Respite Care for your loved one

Just like with you, there are any number of ways in which we can help your loved one, including:

  • Everyday companionship – from playing Gin Rummy to watching the latest episode of your loved one’s favourite Netflix series
  • Fun outings – such as stopping by the local flower market to stepping into your loved one’s go-to cake shop
  • Overnight care – to ensure your loved one gets the sleep they need
  • Personal care – including morning baths and afternoon stretching sessions
  • Mealtimes – whipping up freshly-made food instead of ready-made ones
  • Household chores – like emptying the vacuum cleaner or pruning the roses
  • Shopping – so your loved one never has to miss a good sale
  • Medication – collecting it from the pharmacist and tracking when to take it

Two types of Respite Care

We offer two types of Respite Care, both of which are completely built around your needs.

  • Short-term packages – ideal if you’re looking to take a holiday
  • Longer-term packages – daily or weekly visits that give you a regularly-scheduled chance to rest up

Either way, Respite Care will give you and your loved one a chance to mix things up, meet new people, relieve any frustrations that might be lingering beneath the surface – it happens in all families! – and help you maintain a healthy and loving relationship.

All from the comfort of home.
