Official AED defibrillator has been installed at the Harrow Office

Here at Bluebird Care that is the key word care one of the many ways we are showing that is at our Harrow and Brent office with the new installation of an official AED defibrillator and its registration with the national defibrillator network.

The national defibrillator network or the circuit is dedicated to saving lives, each of the 14 ambulance services across the UK have their own defibrillator database for their area. The Circuit brings this information together into one database. As defibrillators are registered on The Circuit, their location and status are instantly synchronised with the emergency services’ systems ensuring that their information is always up to date.

What that means is for us is if the London ambulance service is nearby and in need of such a device they will be able to see our location on the network make use out of the defibrillator saving what can be critical minutes for the person in need by making it so they don’t need to go to the nearest hospital. That’s not it the defibrillator can also be used by anyone in the local community should they be in an emergency and the need arises for its service, of course if such a situation were to happen the emergency services will be contacted as soon as possible and we would follow the advice they give to us as they deal with this sort of situation all the time and will know what to do.

But since only 1 in 10 people survive an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest in the UK this should make a real difference to those in need and more importantly save lives which is something which we at Bluebird Care are very much in favour of and will always be.
