Announcing Our Charity Of The Year

The Stroke Association, a local charity that supports stroke survivors, has been selected from a large number of to become our Charity of the Year 2018. The Stroke Association Maidstone branch, which is based at Turkey Mill on Ashford Road, provides a range of support services for stroke survivors, including arts and games groups, to help re-build their confidence and independence.

Having been selected, the charity will now benefit from direct fundraising support over the next 12 months, with all proceeds going to enable it to maintain and grow its support to stroke survivors and their families.
The Stroke Association is the UK’s leading stroke charity dedicated to preventing stroke, and to supporting survivors to rebuild their lives.

We're very excited that Bluebird Care Maidstone has chosen to support the Stroke Association in 2018.
This support will raise much-needed funds that will make a big difference to the services we provide to stroke survivors in Maidstone and the surrounding area.
Stroke survivors often need a great deal of support when rehabilitating after a devastating stroke, and many survivors feel depressed and lack confidence.
Our groups enable stroke survivors to meet new friends and rediscover their communication skills in a safe, supportive environment, which helps to rebuild their confidence and independence after suffering a stroke.
With over 1.2 million stroke survivors in the UK and 100,000 strokes happening each year, stroke is the fourth single largest cause of death in the UK. Survivors can face serious and life-changing effects, including paralysis, speech and language difficulties, and depression.This support will raise much-needed funds that will make a big difference to the services we provide to stroke survivors in Maidstone and the surrounding area.
