Last Saturday was a day to remember as our incredible team took on the Pretty Muddy challenge!

It was a 5K run filled with obstacles, mud, and water! More than just a test of endurance - it was a heartfelt effort to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.

We are delighted to announce that, thanks to your generous donations and enthusiastic presence, we raised an impressive £1,405.00. With an additional £317.50 from gift aid, we reached a grand total of £1,722.50!

Mote Park in Maidstone, known for its beautiful landscapes and serene atmosphere, was the perfect setting for this lively event. The race kicked off at 11am, with eight of our bravest team members at the starting line, ready to support an important cause.

A special mention goes to Registered Manager Denise, who has been with Bluebird Care for 12 years. Denise's dedication and effort in organising this event were nothing short of extraordinary. She was instrumental in getting the team together, planning fundraising activities, and ensuring everything ran smoothly on the day. Denise's leadership and passion truly inspired the entire team to give their best.

The primary goal of participating in the Pretty Muddy Challenge was to raise money for Cancer Research UK. With cancer touching the lives of so many, including our own team members and customers, this cause is particularly significant. Of the event, Registered Manager Denise shared a personal note:

I lost my dad to cancer last year, and I have also lost other people that are very close to me. Raising money for Cancer Research UK is very important to help find cures for this awful disease.

It’s stories like these that fuelled our team’s dedication and spirit throughout the race.

Despite the tough obstacles and the layers of mud, the atmosphere was incredibly uplifting. The camaraderie among our team members and the support from the crowd were palpable.

Watching our team help each other over obstacles and cheer each other on was inspiring. It showcased the strong bonds and supportive nature of the Bluebird Care family.

Tammie Johnson, our Business Development Manager, summed it up perfectly

We were wet, muddy, but incredibly happy to have completed the course. It was such a fulfilling experience, knowing that our efforts will contribute to an important cause.

Perhaps the most rewarding part of the day was knowing that our efforts contributed to raising over £1,700 for Cancer Research UK. This achievement not only exceeded our expectations but also brought a sense of fulfilment and purpose to our muddy adventure.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported us - whether through donations, cheering from the sidelines, or participating in the race. Your contributions have made a significant impact, and together, we are helping to advance the fight against cancer.

Participating in the Pretty Muddy Challenge was an unforgettable experience for the Bluebird Care team. It was a day filled with laughter, mud, and meaningful action. As we look back on the event, we are proud of what we accomplished and motivated to continue supporting causes that make a difference.

Until next time, let’s keep the spirit of giving alive and continue to care for our community, one step at a time.
