Bluebird Care Redbridge, Epping & Harlow Live-in Carer Christmas party

Bluebird Care Redbridge, Epping & Harlow, started the Christmas festivities by organising their first Christmas staff parties for our live-in carers

Bluebird Care Redbridge, Epping and Harlow held a Christmas party for our live-in carers on 2nd December. We invited our regional live-in carers in around Redbridge. To ensure the safety and to adhere to regulations, all that attended completed a negative covid test. We shared mince pies and lots of laughter. It was lovely to see the live-in carers taking this opportunity to enjoy and socialise with each other and with the office staff members, which is something they do not get to very much as part of their job role.

When we asked our live-in carers, what is the reason they enjoy being a live-in carer compared to being a home carer, they all said, it’s being able to build a closer bond with the customer, it is a two-way street, as much as they enjoy the one on one, the customer gets to build a bond with them too.

Wiping bums and making tea is not what it is all about, it's dealing with a customer’s everyday living, supporting them to stay in their own home, supporting their emotions, making their quality of life better and allowing them to live independently. Companionship is the most important element, sitting and talking with them, ensuring they are not lonely. It is not just about their physical needs, but also their emotional needs too.
