Care Assistant Christina Is A Finalist In The National Bluebird Care Awards!

Our Care Assistant Christina has been nominated for ‘Carer of the Year’ at this year’s National Bluebird Care Awards! The team member that nominated her, said: “Christina has been a live-in care assistant at Bluebird Care Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells since October 2017. She exhibits an exemplary passion and commitment to care and dispatches her duties in a professional and approachable way.”

Taking Margaret Out For Lunch

Every other month, we arrange to take a customer who does not go out very much for a treat and recently Care Assistant Louise took customer Margaret out for lunch at our local garden centre. Louise collected Margaret, who was very much looking forward to the trip and headed down to Millbrooks where they ate their fill and even had a sweet treat for pudding!

Staff Summer Funday

Each year we hold an event for our incredible team of Care Assistants in the summer and this year was no exception! We booked our local village hall in Hadlow, rolled out the BBQ, inflated the fun run and had an enjoyable time. Even though we chose the only full day of rain, we were not to be deterred and joined by Care Assistants who popped in throughout the day for a burger and chat.

Well Done To Inga!

We would like to say a very big well done to Care Supervisor Inga, who has recently completed her management level 3 qualification! The qualification took just under 12 months and consisted of a number of modules that covered every aspect of the role of management.

Launching REME In Pembury Hospital!

We have recently teamed up with staff at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust (MTW) to help and encourage patients with dementia to use an app which assists with cognitive stimulation and social interaction.   The Remind Me Care App is specifically for people with dementia, and is currently used by our live-in carers. It has been very well received and we are delighted to be able to make a difference in our community through it!

A Special Trip To Hastings

As part of our commitment to constantly go the extra mile for our customers, we are proud to  arrange regular outings and events. We made the most of the sunshine this week and headed down to Hastings for the day with a group of customers for a very enjoyable time.

Off For Lunch With Rod

As part of our commitment to providing a premium service to our customers, every two months we arrange for a regular Care Assistant to take one of their customers out for lunch. Recently, Care Assistant Veronica took out one of her customers for what was a really lovely meal! Veronica picked up customer Rod and headed down to the local inn at Speldhurst.

Announcing Our Second Community Grant For 2018!

A community group in Tunbridge Wells has been awarded our second £500 Community Grant for 2018 to fund a members' trip to the flower show at RHS Wisley!   The Number One Community Trust provides older people with regular opportunities to enjoy social events and activities, which helps to alleviate problems like loneliness and social isolation that are often experienced by older people.
