Each month we recognise one member of staff who has stood out in their approach to the role of Care Assistant and we are proud to announce that Merce has been recognised as our Care Assistant of the month for May! Merce is always striving to deliver the highest standard of care to our customers and does so in a patient, cheerful manner. She is very deserving of this award.

Afternoon Tea For Dementia Action Week
As part of our Dementia Action Week activity, we recently took a group of our live in customers and their Care Assistant out for afternoon tea at the Where Memories Meet cafe in Maidstone. The afternoon tea consisted of scones & jam, cakes, sandwiches and English breakfast tea to wash it all down. It certainly went down very well!

Dementia Friends Session With Age UK
As part of Dementia Action Week we have a packed schedule of activities in our community and on 21 May, Community Liaison Nathan visited The Goodman Centre to deliver a Dementia Friends session to our local Rotary Club. Through our involvement with Dementia Friends in the community, we have made over 300 friends who now know a little more about dementia and how it is possible to live well with the disease.

Celebrating 101 With Kit
We always celebrate birthdays with our customers and recently celebrated with Kit, who is one of our eldest customers at now 101 years! Kit lives in Tonbridge, used to be a dress maker and was born in 1917 when King George V was on the throne.

Customer Afternoon Tea
We recently treated a group of customers to an afternoon tea event to help create the opportunity to socialise and enjoy time together. The event was hosted at Hadlow College Broadview Tea Room last week, where we were joined by 25 guests who enjoyed a cream tea including sandwiches, scones and cakes.

Recognising Our Staff's Achievements!
We have a thorough induction and probation programme for all of our staff and this includes completing their Care Certificate, which forms a very strong foundation. We recently celebrated with Care Assistant Ljubitsa who has passed her probation and are delighted to congratulate her!
