2020 Annual Newsletter

10/03/2021

A Welcome From our Director Narinder Gill

"Hello to you all! I hope you are keeping safe and well during this difficult time. As 2020 draws to a close, I wanted to share how we came together as a community and supported each other during immense challenges the pandemic has posed. In this newsletter I wanted to take this opportunity to shine a light on the kindness and compassion that have been the highlights of our year and look at 2021 with renewed optimism and hope."

1 Year as Wakefield & Kirklees

In October we became 1 year old as our newly merged service covering Wakefield & Kirklees. This has enabled us to continue our service and provide additional resources during the pandemic.

In our Bluebird office, we have our very own fundraising thermometer for the Prince of Wales Hospice, set up in 2017. We are constantly raising funds to help support not just the patients in the hospice, but also their families. So far, we have managed to raise £6,813,07!

In November, our fabulous Care Assistants and office staff raised a cuppa for Kirkwood Hospice which raised over £30. Thank You ladies!community - home care in Wakefield & Kirklees

Welcome to the Team

We are pleased to welcome Tracey and Jamie to the team who have recently joined Bluebird Care Wakefield & Kirklees. It is also fantastic to have Jess Gaskell return from maternity leave, taking on the role of Operations Manager.

Congratulations

Our Field Care Supervisor Janice recently received a Covid Hero award for Bluebird Care branches across the country. Janice has worked relentlessly through out the pandemic, not only supporting our carers and customers but also as a volunteer delivering NHS home testing kits across West Yorkshire. What an achievment, she is our hero!

We are proud to have our Director and Operations Manager, Narinder and Jessica, as trained mental health first-aiders. We are committed to supporting the well-being of all our staff and customers.
