As a home care company that cares about its customers and communities, we try to be as involved with charity events as possible. When we're not in the field delivering quality care, we're planning new and exciting ways to get out into the community and show our support to our local charities. We have contributed to many charitable events, including fundraising for Dementia UK, Prince of Wales Hospice, Kirkwood Hospice, and Wakefield Hospice. This September we participated in the Wakefield Walkies event!

Wakefield Walkies

Wakefield Walkies is a brand-new charity event that aims to raise money for Wakefield Hospice - a charity that has provided expert care to local people with life-limiting illnesses for over 30 years.

Organised by the hospice, this event was a lot of fun and a great way to show our support. The event started with an honourable two-minute clap for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, a heart-warming and inspiring moment for the community just two days after the passing of our beloved Queen. The event consisted of a 3km walk around Carr Lodge Park in Wakefield, with all pooches awarded a medal for their efforts and a bag of delicious treats.

Some small local businesses also joined in with the festivities. There were stalls at the finish line for walkers to treat themselves to some flowers or their pets to a brand-new collar and harness set! On top of that, doggy agility courses were set up for the doggies to let off some steam. It was a great display of community.

It was a lovely warm morning full of fun and excitement, and we are so glad to have been a part of it. The event raised over £1,600 to go towards maintaining the hospice and its patients.
