A new year and a new Care Hub

This year we start as we mean to go on – with a new Care Hub launching in the Axminster & Seaton area of East Devon.
The team have been working really hard in making the launch successful. Led by Kirsty Warren (Registered Manager for our East Devon Hub) the team will enable and support the elderly local community who live in this area to remain in their own homes for as long as possible. We will be focusing on delivering a real outreach service to the rural villages and hamlets that cluster around Axminster & Seaton – delivering a dedicated and committed service to the families that live here.

Kirsty Warren, Registered Manager of the East Devon Care Hub said, “Running our central East Devon Care Hub has shown us how much need there is from the community for a trusted, quality provider of home care. People love seeing our team of Devon Bluebirds in their towns and villages, delivering constant and consistent, award-winning care at home and we can’t wait to serve the communities of Axminster and Seaton with a dedicated and local team of Bluebirds”.

Wellbeing in Nature

Building on our Wellbeing programme from 2017, we will be working with Age UK Devon, the LED Leisure group and Active Devon and co-hosting a day of activity and experience at the LED centre in Honiton. We will be motivating our customers and all visitors to the event to try something new – from birdwatching; walking football; gentle rambles and even a fitness MOT.

This event will be taking place in February 2018 – and if you or your customers or network want to get involved please contact our Head of Brand Strategy & Communications, Emma Perrett in our Exeter office.

Wellbeing in local Primary Schools

Finally – a really heart-warming note to end on in this, my first 2018 missive to you.

Here are some great pictures of our first cross-generational project at a local Primary School in Exmouth. Where we had customers who are socially isolated happily playing snap with the children and physically less-abled customers literally running round playing tag. It was wellbeing truly in action.

This year we will continue this strand of work under our Wellbeing programme by working with Primary Schools in all of our Hub areas, Exmouth, East Devon and Exeter.
