Supporting Young Adults at Home
"As parents of our 32 years old son ("A") who is disabled and has special needs we were looking for a support organisation to meet both his and our needs. Our son "A" has a pre-school demeanor despite his age and has no speech. However he still manages to communicate albeit with difficulty with those who take the time to try via Makaton, BSL and his own unique ways. We found that Bluebird Care (Bicester, Banbury & Kidlington) was able to provide a support service that met both "A's" needs and our own. We have tried other care providers but found that "A" flourished in a one-to-one environment rather than with his peers primarily due to communication difficulties he and they experienced. Bluebird Care (Bicester, Banbury & Kidlington) have staff with a wide range of skills and abilities. We were able to match the right carer to match "A's" unique needs and understandably, those used to dealing with young children and ex Nursery School teacher experience gelled instantly! We now have expanded the basic one hour toiletry care to, with the right carer (s) to include a five hour session. This allows "A" to enjoy visits to the theatre ( recent visits include The Gruffulo, Little Robin Red Vest), theme parks (Fairy Tale Farm) and many more. Such has been the success of this that for one carer we have been able to take her on holiday with us so we can all enjoy a week away (bus-mans holiday was not as onerous as it seemed!) In summary, Bluebird Care (Bicester, Banbury & Kidlington) have managed to fit both our needs and the needs of our young son like a hand in glove. We would thoroughly recommend the bespoke service they are able to offer." Mrs GM and Dr BT

Enriching the lives of our Customers
I just wanted to say THANK YOU so much to Bluebird Care on behalf of ‘M’ and ‘C’. ‘M’ so wanted ‘C’ to play her Ukelele as part of the group, in the Abingdon Arms, on Wednesday 11th evening and so did ‘C’ after all her practicing! Thank you very much to Bluebird for making that possible with the timing of ‘C’ break. It was such a lovely, warm, and fun evening and I know it meant so much to Cecilia to join in and feel part of it. Thank you to everyone at Bluebird who went the extra mile to enable that. I am sure the rota can be a bit of a nightmare to sort at the best of times but as a friend to ‘M’ and ‘C’, I so appreciated you being able to accommodate an evening break. Thank you must also definitely extend to ‘D’ who was not expecting to provide the cover but stepped in, as I understand it, just a couple of hours beforehand when the Bluebird on the rota was unable to come. ‘D’ realises how much ‘C’ enjoys the Ukulele group and what that evening would mean to her. It was very kind of her to put her time off plans to one side do that cover for ‘C’. I wanted to tell you know how much of a difference that change of the usual rota and ‘D’ kindness meant to ‘C’ and ‘M’. 🙂 Thank you Bluebird Care.
