Bluebird Care Sevenoaks at Forget Me Not Café
Bluebird Care Sevenoaks proudly supports the Forget Me Not Café, a dementia-friendly space offering companionship, peer support, and engaging activities for individuals living with memory loss and their loved ones. Every last Wednesday of the month, two dedicated team members volunteer their time to assist attendees, provide guidance, and offer practical advice to families navigating dementia care. Held at Bat & Ball Train Station in Sevenoaks, the café creates a warm and welcoming environment where guests can share experiences, connect with others, and enjoy refreshments. Through their involvement, Bluebird Care Sevenoaks reinforces the importance of community support, ensuring that those affected by memory loss have access to meaningful social interactions and compassionate care. Join Us: Last Wednesday of the month 10:30 am - 12:00 pm Bat & Ball Train Station, Bat & Ball Road, Sevenoaks, TN14 5AP For more information, feel free to visit or contact Bluebird Care Sevenoaks.

Bluebird Care Partners with Seal Primary for a Heart-warming Letter Exchange
Bluebird Care Sevenoaks is delighted to be working in partnership with Seal Church of England Primary School on an intergenerational letter exchange project. Facilitated by Anthony Brown, a Year 4 English teacher at Seal Primary School, the initiative has connected 11 pupils with Bluebird Care customers, fostering meaningful communication across generations. Through letter writing, pupils have had the opportunity to develop their writing skills while learning about the lives, hobbies, and histories of older members of their community. Likewise, our customers have enjoyed engaging with young minds, proving that age is never a barrier to connection and communication. This rewarding experience has brought joy and enrichment to both the pupils and our customers, strengthening community ties and encouraging valuable intergenerational friendships. Bluebird Care Sevenoaks is proud to support initiatives that promote learning, empathy, and shared experiences between different generations.

Community Gardening with Sevenoaks Rotary Club
Bluebird Care Sevenoaks is proud to support local community initiatives, and recently, team members Amy and Della volunteered with the Sevenoaks Rotary Club to help with gardening at a local care home. Their efforts focused on preparing trugs, ensuring that once completed, residents would have the opportunity to plant flowers and vegetables themselves. This hands-on project not only helps beautify the care home’s outdoor space but also promotes engagement and activity among residents. By working alongside the Rotary Club, Bluebird Care Sevenoaks continues to support meaningful community interactions and enhance the well-being of older individuals through social and environmental initiatives.

Supporting Dementia Friends: Raising Awareness and Understanding
Every three minutes, someone in the UK develops dementia. With cases on the rise, communities across the country are coming together to create a more dementia-friendly society—and Bluebird Care Sevenoaks is proud to play a part. We are pleased to support 'Dementia Friends,' an initiative led by the Alzheimer’s Society to raise awareness and educate people on how to support those living with dementia. By fostering understanding and equipping individuals with the knowledge to make a difference, we are helping to build a more compassionate and inclusive community. Through our involvement, we aim to ensure that more people recognise the challenges faced by those with dementia and take small, meaningful actions to support them in everyday life.
