Old Trafford is the largest League ground in England and is one of the most iconic football venues in the world. The stadium was built next to the Bridgewater Canal in 1910 and, apart from an eight-year gap because of bomb damage sustained during the Second World War, it has been Man Utd's home ever since. Manchester United have won the top league in England twenty times, more than any other club. A lot of this success came in the early Premier League era under the management of Sir Alex Ferguson.

From 2013 onwards it has been known as Emirates Old Trafford due to a sponsorship deal with the Emirates airline. Old Trafford is England's second oldest Test venue after The Oval and hosted the first Ashes Test in England in 1884. Lancashire Cricket Club was a founder member of the County Championship in 1890 and has won the competition nine times.
