Bluebird Care are joining forces with the NHS to reduce hospital admissions in the battle against COVID-19.
The Bluebird Care JET Service (Joint Emergency Team) will support the NHS to help free up vital hospital beds in the critical fight against coronavirus.
The Bluebird Care JET Service is designed to provide rapid response, emergency care to people in their own homes, rather than admitting them to hospital. This is targeted at patients who have minor injuries and ailments, such as Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs), chest infections and falls.
GPs and Community/Proactive Care Teams can refer their patients directly to the Bluebird Care JET Service, where they will be assessed and have care put in place. This will crucially mean that more NHS staff are on hand to help those who need it most.
The JET Service is seen as critical support to the NHS as they deal with an influx of patients who have coronavirus symptoms.
Philip Heiden, Director at Mid-Hampshire Healthcare, said:
We are delighted to be working with Bluebird Care who will be providing vital assistance to our NHS hospitals and GP surgeries.
It has long been known that with correct community social care support, thousands of people that are unnecessarily admitted to hospital can be cared for just as well, if not better, in their own homes and Bluebird Care were the perfect partner to deliver this.
