Dementia Friends
Will you join the thousands of people who are already Dementia Friends?
Dementia Friends is an initiative from the Alzheimer's Society that aims to promote a wider understanding of dementia and inspire people to take action to support people affected by dementia in their community.
What is a Dementia Friend?
A dementia friend is someone who has learned about dementia to have a greater understanding about dementia and those living with it and so helping people to continue to live the way that they want.
What does a Dementia Friend do?
Dementia Friends help those who are living with dementia by doing things to help. These can be large or small, but they all go to help those living with dementia . It might be something like being patient in a queue in a shop behind someone who is living with dementia, or it can include direct action or fundraising to help to raise awareness.
How to become a Dementia Friend
Everyone can be a Dementia Friend. Ambassadors of Dementia Friends are happy to run sessions in person to enable people to become Dementia Friends or you can watch a video.
