Bluebird Care Regional Award Winners

Two of our team members have been honoured with the prestigious Bluebird Care Regional Awards! Congratulations to Pete & Sara for winning 'Registered Manager & Care Expert of the Year' respectively.
Our Registered Manager, Pete, and Care Expert, Sara, are both celebrating after having been recognised for their hard work, compassion and dedication to Bluebird Care Rushcliffe & Melton.
Both Peter & Sara were chosen out of hundred of nominees as the winner of the Registered Manager and Care Expert of Year Award respectively at this year’s annual Bluebird Care Awards.
The awards saw over 600 people bid for the top spot in each category – from right across Scotland, Northern Ireland and the entire North of England.
These awards go to individuals who are truly outstanding, who go above and beyond for customers and teammates – real ‘all-rounders’ who personify what care is all about.
Registered Manager of the Year - Peter Bryan
Pete has spearheaded the successful launch of the Health & Wellbeing Check service. The impact of the H&W service has been significant, preventing customers from deterioration e.g. sepsis, prompted GP reviews of medication, and received praise from paramedics. Alongside his full-time management role, Pete has spent the past three years completing his Senior Leader L7 chartership and MBA. This summer he has become a chartered manager achieving a distinction grade. As a result of his hard work, he has introduced many enhancements to the organisation’s strategy including the creation of a KPI Dashboard, Balance Scorecard Map, and most recently, a strategic business proposal to launch live-in care. Pete has also delivered training in diabetes in order to improve staff awareness and customer care, utilising his previous experience managing Diabetic Retinopathy clinics at Queen’s Medical Centre, and Biomedicine degree. Under Pete’s leadership and commitment to high quality care, the business has just received the new Bluebird Care Gold Compliance Award.
Care Expert of the Year - Sara Taj
Sara was named the worthy winner of this award thanks to her professional, high-quality, person-centred care. She is now the face of the company’s Health & Wellbeing Service, having taken up the mantel of H&W champion. Sara’s calm, compassionate, people-focused approach has helped put both customers and their families at ease when providing this essential service. The cardiovascular and wellbeing questionnaires have helped reassure customer’s loved ones that they are in safe hands. Sara’s work has helped prevent health deterioration and hospitalisation. Sara has received various internal recognition awards this past year including ‘Professional Development’ and ‘Care Team of the Quarter’, highlighting her commitment and passion for high quality care.
Pete & Sara have been a member of the Bluebird Care Rushcliffe & Melton team for 9 and 2 years respectively.
They celebrated the award with their teammates at a celebratory lunch in Nottingham where everyone who was nominated came together to celebrate their contributions to care.
Pete & Sara will now progress to the grand finals of the Bluebird Care awards, in which the four regional winners will have the chance to win the overall annual award – being named the most outstanding individual from Bluebird Care’s 10,000 strong workforce right across the UK.
Her team will be cheering them both on!
